We definitely want to know your name and where you live. Depending on where or if
you go to school, we can put you in touch with a faculty advisor or figure out when and
how to get you to a monthly meeting.
Attend monthly meetings:
This is where a lot of the action at the YOUTH Forum takes place. These meetings are a great
place to meet new people and to talk about the stuff that is important to you. Like jazz great
Louis Armstrong said, "Man, if you gotta ask, you ain't never gonna know."
GET TO THE MEETINGS!
The Connecticut
Youth Forum
thanks the
following for their
support:
Join the Leadership Network:
The YOUTH Forum is run by youth. Most decisions about the YOUTH Forum are made by
members of the Leadership Network with adult help. This is a dedicated group who attend
their own monthly meeting to plan and organize the YOUTH Forum and its activities. They also
perform roles like website design, contribute to advisory boards, focus groups and have two
seats on the Connecticut Forum Board of Directors. The only requirement for becoming a
leader of the YOUTH Forum, is a willingness to participate regularly.
Participate in field trips:
YOUTH Forum Members get opportunities to attend:

  • overnight leadership retreats --------->

  • cultural events like the theatre

  • college visits

  • movie trips

  • bowling

  • wall climbing

And other massively fun and exciting adventures...

Live it. Learn it. Pass it on!

The Connecticut Youth Forum has been, is now and will only continue to be successful with
participation by youth. Your job, above all else, as a member of the Youth Forum is to
participate. You can help everyone by bringing your friends, brothers, sisters or anyone else
between 13-19 years old to the  meetings and getting them involved as well.

Please remember:

                             YOUTH Forum Culture

Learn it. Live it. Pass it on!

We understand each other by…

•        Being present, mind and body.

•        Being honest, with ourselves and others.

•        Talking about our own experiences.

•        Listening, giving everyone a chance to speak.

•        Not putting yourself or others down.

•        Being discrete. Talk about ideas, not people.

•        Connecting and having fun!
